Painting, the space, the time

2015

The painting of Shahla Dadsetan expands according to the principle variation which responds to constantly renew of questioning in both philosophical and scientific, upon the universe in its relationship to time and space.

Each painting can be seen as a meditative reflection of this projection, the pictorial practice constituting, for the artist, a way to think together these two dimensions that have not ceased to nurture the art, in East as in West. The evocation of the movement of the time, the infinite of space in what is elusive, through the works of Shahla Dadsetan.

In this recent series, the composition is primarily plastic, based on work on the color, the composition is primarily plastic, and based on work on the color, the material effects and a vertical / horizontal play. She aims to create tensions in the space of painting as so many metaphors of cosmic energy, the mystery of the beginning of the universe and its constant metamorphosis. Beginning in the form of "dark matter" such as the recent researches tend to show it, material which enters in correlation with other elements that make it change.
The space of each painting presents itself as a sort of a fragment of this infinite space traversed by forces doomed to instability.

The pictorial matter is treated so as to evoke the same matter in the universe. The chromatic reduction is extreme in these recent paintings. The black dominates, sometimes striated with red, sometimes with white trails. The work on the touch animates the matter. The color contrasts emphasize the expressive power of these while making happen a pictorial light that gives these paintings intensity and particular presence.
