Shahla Dadsetan’s artistic practice is intrinsically related to her experience of being in the world. Her approach consists in seeking within herself the sensations by which she is permeated; sensations composed of tensions, of forces and of energies.
To paint is to translate this dynamic relationship with the world by opening up to the infinite and mysterious space of the universe, an imaginary space that amalgamates with the artist’s inner space.
Each canvas is a sort of floating world traversed by waves that multiply in a movement of ebb and flow, rendered tangible by the fluidity of the line; a universe in expansion conducive to the gestation of forms which seem to merge before our very eyes, born of the chromatic contrasts between opacity and transparency.
The artist’s choice to give free rein to the impulsion of the artistic gesture imbues her pictures with a remarkable intensity. The beholder’s gaze is absorbed in the rhythms of these colourful meanderings, provoking a meditative state that each will experience according to his or her personal sensibility.
